Who Are We?

Hi, my name is Kat. After teaching in both the public and private sector for nearly 20 years, I left the traditional brick-n-mortar school system to homeschool our own children. My husband, John, had already traded his role as a scientist/engineer for that of a teacher, and went on to become a school psychologist and college professor.  It was during those years of homeschooling our children, that the realization set in that many parents were going about the homeschooling thing in a haphazard, trial & error manner. That realization inspired me to start a homeschool consortium. I became an advisor to other homeschool moms (and dads), offering help with everything from activities, lesson plans, and organization, to students’ rights, scope & sequence, transcripts, electives, and college admissions essays.  Throughout that journey, I had the honour of meeting with and sharing my expertise, experience and knowledge, with parents across the country.  Once ours were off to college, except for the occasional random conversation with, say the cashier at checkout, my homeschool interactions waned.  That is, until the arrival of the grandkids!  For the past 3 years, in a joint operation with our daughter, I have been absorbed in the homeschooling of her two little ones, and advising her in the what and how of it all. 

Recently, due to societal changes and shifts in the family unit, I was encouraged [by my wonderful husband & our middle daughter] to re-enter the realm of homeschooling as a coach and advisor. There is, we have observed, a clear need and desire for guidance from a large number of parents wanting to homeschool, but clueless as to how to navigate the waters of the homeschooling world.  

With the launch of the Simpli Homeschool Inner Circle, we will be surrounding ourselves with a circle of like-minded, faith-based, homeschool families who seek guidance and direction in how to tailor their homeschool to meet the specific needs to each child/student. As a member of the Inner Circle, you, the parent, will be advised and coached in the ART of Simpli Homeschooling.  

With the integration of DISC Assessment, you will learn how to help your student survive and thrive at home, school, sports, and work AND equip them with the pivotal and rudimentary skills which are essential to build confidence, increase competency, develop communication, and master control in order to realize their full potential and achieve overall multi-sensory performance excellence.  Additional training, through the Performance Mindset Coaching Program is strongly encouraged, but not required.  

As a member of the Inner Circle you will have access to evaluation and assessment services and IEP development/maintenance, at discounted rates.

Through bi-monthly zoom roundtable discussions, the Inner Circle members will have access to me, and my husband, and be able to continually encourage, support, and pray for each other’s success.  Like a Coach’s Corner for homeschool parents, you will be able to bounce off, sound off, share ideas, voice fears, share your successes & failures, and seek solutions. We will mentor you, advise you, guide you, and inspire you. You will be able to pick our brain. And, we will always have your back.

Every activity, lesson, and printable is passed down from Kat’s family to yours.
